Plan a freestanding bath
A freestanding bath is a focal point, but its position also has to work for drainage, access, cleaning and the route into the room.

Read the room before the bath
Begin with a measured room plan that shows finished wall positions, doors, windows and nearby fixtures. Place the outside dimensions of the shortlisted bath on that plan. Then check the space around it for moving through the room, reaching the faucet, cleaning the floor and accessing connections. A product that fits on paper still needs a practical installation and maintenance route.
Look beyond the outer length
| Detail to confirm | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Overall envelope | Length, width and height against the finished room. |
| Bowl geometry | Internal shape and depth, rather than assuming outer length equals bathing space. |
| Drain position | Location of the outlet and the compatible waste/overflow arrangement. |
| Base and support | How the selected bath is supported and what the floor needs to accommodate. |
| Faucet arrangement | Wall, floor or permitted deck placement and its relationship to the bath. |
Plan the delivery route
Check the route from the delivery point to the bathroom, including door openings, corners, stairs, lifts and temporary obstructions. Request the product and packaging dimensions and weight needed to plan handling. Keep access planning separate from the room-layout check: a bath may suit the bathroom but still need a different route or handling arrangement to get there.
Make the connections serviceable
Discuss the drain location and future access with the installer before the floor is finished. Freestanding installation arrangements vary, and a detail from one model should not be transferred to another. Confirm the selected product’s support, leveling and drain instructions, and have the installer check floor suitability and the required connection arrangement.
Before installation is signed off
- Inspect the delivered product and keep its reference with the order record.
- Check the selected installation manual and drain components with the installer.
- Confirm the finished position and access to connections.
- Have the installed connections checked for leaks before any access is closed.
- Keep the care instructions and product details for future maintenance.
These planning principles are consistent with manufacturer installation guidance that emphasizes model-specific instructions, a supported level location and accessible connections. Read an example manufacturer installation guide; its model-specific dimensions and approvals do not apply to Anhe Bath products.
Put it into your project
Save the references for the products on your shortlist. Send the quantities, required dimensions, preferred finish, destination and target timing to Anhe Bath so the product details can be discussed together.
